Healthier, Happier Pregnancy, and Baby
When you think about pregnancy and labor what comes to mind? Do you relate it to the movies and the screaming women you have seen on television, or maybe to a friend’s birth story where everything seemed to go wrong? I want you to know their story does not need to be your reality, or your birth story.
Most women experience some level of low back pain, sciatica, hip pain, leg pain, and headaches during pregnancy. Often, women are told their symptoms are “normal” and they will have to deal with them until their pregnancy is over. These symptoms along with nausea, heartburn, and fatigue do not have to be a part of your pregnancy journey. If you would like to exclude these symptoms from your pregnancy, chiropractic is one way to help.
I want to empower you during this amazing journey of bringing life into the world. I’m not going to tell you where, when, or how to birth, but I ask that you be open to a different path.
Prenatal chiropractic, known as Webster Technique, is a specific chiropractic technique used for prenatal assistance. The specificity of the technique removes intra-uterine constraint and is effective and pain-free. Adjustments will allow the baby to freely move in utero and return to a vertex or head down position. There are also multiple benefits of chiropractic care for the mother.
These benefits can include preparing the pelvis for an easier pregnancy and birth; removing tension on the ligaments that support the uterus; reducing interference in the mother’s nervous system; increasing vitality and energy; and decreasing labor time, effort, and pain. Chiropractic adjustments will also allow for an easier, safer birth, and decrease potential for intervention and birth trauma.
There are also benefits that occur to the baby in utero during chiropractic adjustments.
They include removing interference and allowing for better development of the baby.
The adjustments will allow for more room to develop cranium, spine, and skeletal structures. More room also allows the baby to move into the best possible birthing position which decreases the chances of a difficult birth and reduces potential intervention.
Balance is key when it comes to having an ideal pregnancy and birth. When you learn you are pregnant it’s time to start receiving chiropractic care and have your nervous system checked. In order to have your body develop a perfect functioning human being, you first need to be functioning to your optimum. When there is a reduction in nervous system interference in the body, it will function with more ease, leaving you better able to adapt to stress and the constant changes that occur during pregnancy.
